First Responders face unique challenges during the course of their work. They cannot change the situations they are called to act upon: the trials or fires they must witness or endure. However, there is a choice in how to face those challenges. Every metaphorical fire in this line of work can be met with grace and humanity. It’s easy to get stuck in the fire where all they can see are the problems blocking their path, with no way forward. For example, law enforcement officers have traditionally been seen as the good shephard’s of society, but there has been a shift in perception portraying them as the Big Bad Wolf. A result of this has been deep conflict not only between these civil servants and their communities but also within their own organizations.
Carmen teaches skills to manage those stressors while creating new inspiration and authority over their personal and professional lives.
